Spring is a time of new beginnings and new growth. This is a great time to do some spring cleaning for your mental health!

Fresh Air And Sunlight

What would you need to do in your life to give yourself a breath of fresh air? Maybe it would feel refreshing to have a date night, a weekend away, a spa day, complete a task you have been putting off, take a walk outside, or connect with friends. Go ahead and give yourself a break, a fresh start. Just like opening a window in your home to let fresh air in, open yourself up to the new opportunities and allow yourself to be energized and reinvigorated by new beginnings.

Sunlight helps plants grow and is an important form of nourishment for our bodies as well. Take some time outside to soak in the warmth that sunlight brings. Close your eyes and feel the sun on your skin, and use this moment as a way to ground yourself in the moment you are experiencing.

Using sunlight as a metaphor, allow yourself to grow and feed energy into the parts of your life you want to see flourish. Look at your priorities and values and notice what is helping you align with those values and what in your life is holding you back. Shine light, time, and energy into those things that matter most to you.

Deep-Cleaning and Organization

Spring cleaning can feel so refreshing! Deep-cleaning and organization don’t just have to be for your home, they can also be for your mental health. Make a list of things in your life that feel like barriers or things that are holding you back from living the life you want. Create a plan of what you can deep-clean out of your life and organize the important things so that they become a priority. If your priorities include your family, try to minimize the things that are keeping you from quality time with your family. If you want more energy so you can focus on your career, focus on the things that energize you. Want a clutter-free house so that you can feel more relaxed at home? Purge!!! Create and write down an action plan and, then, take action

New Growth

Give yourself permission to grow. Maybe a change in your life is what you have been needing. Growth can be scary and difficult. And remember, nothing changes if nothing changes. So, make the change for the better. Counseling can be a great resource to help you take that first step towards positive change! Wishing you a wonderful season of growth and new beginnings.
