Christian Counseling Blog

Christian CounselingThe foundation of Christian counseling is the belief that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Lord of all. At Front Range Counseling Center, all our counselors are Christian and believe the Bible as the source of all truth. The apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” We believe that the Bible possesses wisdom about human mental health, marriage and family, suffering, and what is needed to become free of addictions and anger. We believe that all truth comes from God and that includes research outside the Christian Church or Christian circles.

We recognize that there are some Christian counselors who are not very good therapists, and some non-Christian counselors who are excellent therapists, and all kinds in between. A counselor who doesn’t have the the ability to be emotionally present with you is not going to be a very effective therapist, no matter how theologically sound his or her counseling is based upon. The best Christian counseling will be both theologically sound and psychologically effective: includes the truth and provides a safe relationship.

With that in mind, we have designed this blog for Christians seeking help for mental health issues that can range from anger management to marriage issues to sexual addiction or depression. We hope that the following articles will provide the help, healing, and direction that you need. Feel free to leave a comment, question, or feedback. God bless!

In the first season of Ted Lasso, Ted is playing a game of darts against one of the antagonists in the story, Rupert. Towards the end of the game, Ted was talking about how he had been underestimated by people his whole life. For years, this bothered him, but then he saw the quote “be […]

What is the Problem with Lust? So, what is lust?  That is a huge question.   Lust is the opposite of love.  Lust tries to take the place of love.  Lust takes the place of God.  Lust is about taking, while love is about giving.  Lust is never satisfied and it always wants more and more. […]

Sexual Addiction Victory Victory over sexual addictive behaviors must derive from a change in attitude of one’s mind and heart.  This changed attitude only comes from an unconditional surrender to God.  It is a decision to stop turning to the sexual act and rely upon the provisions of a Power Greater than self.  The new […]
